About us

Merlin & Metis AB was founded in the summer of 2021 by us. Our names are Christian, Saara and Jakob and we are three senior energy market consultants and former colleagues. Together we wanted to create a genuine and trustworthy consulting company with a focus on the opportunities and challenges that actors face in changing energy markets.

The company name was inspired by Merlin from the ancient British tales of King Arthur and his knights, in which Merlin used his mystical knowledge for good causes. The name symbolizes for us our desire to use our expertise to solve problems that contribute to our customers' operations and thus to the change processes that the energy sector is facing. A fact-based approach and a well-implemented analysis that relates correctly to the overall system in both the short and in the long term, is what carries the furthest. This is the kind of knowledge that we want to develop for our customers who are facing both strategic and operational decisions in a complex and changing business environment.

The second part of the company name, Metis , comes from Greek mythology, where the name belonged to the titan who was considered the wisest of all living beings. In modern times, Metis has been used to symbolize, in addition to wisdom, also know-how and experience, the more intuitive parts of knowledge development and expertise. In addition to facts and analysis, it also requires a deeper understanding of how the technical, economic, financial, political, social and commercial interact in the energy field. We work with an awareness of the complexity of the issues and see it as part of our task to not only become more knowledgeable in our professional practice over time, but also more insightful, more wise.
